Mendenhall Public Library – Full Time Branch Manager 

Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a Branch Manager to fill a full time (40 hours per week) position at the Mendenhall Public Library in Mendenhall, MS. Branch Managers are in charge of all aspects of branch library operations.  Responsible for staff, physical plant, materials, programming, community contacts, and local reference.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Requirements will vary depending on the area of assignment.

  1. Education requirements:
    1. Two (2) years of college for Library Assistant II.
    2. Four (4) years of college for Librarian I.
    3. An ALA MLS degree for Librarian II and Librarian III.
  2. Previous work experience in a public library is highly desirable with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  3. Must be computer literate.
  4. Possess good communication and reference skills.
  5. Be able to lift from 30-40 lbs.
  6. Be able to reach shelves above shoulder height and bend to reach shelves close to the floor.

This position will start September 1, 2021.

The salary for this position is $22,000.00 annually with benefits.

Florence Public Library – Full Time Circulation Clerk

Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a Circulation Clerk to fill a full time (40 hours) position at the Florence Public Library in Florence, MS. The Circulation Clerk is responsible for the daily duties of the circulation desk, shelving and assists in providing service to patrons at the circulation desk. Responsible for preserving the physical appearance and order of the collection. May assist in providing basic reference service.

Richland Public Library – Full Time Youth Services Specialist

This Full Time (40 hours per week) position assists in all aspects of services to children and youth in the Richland Public Library located in Richland, MS. All job responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the Branch Manager and Youth Services Coordinator.

  1. Masters Degree in Library Information Science or Education is preferred.
  2. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in education or libraries.
  3. Ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.
  4. Knowledge of, and experience with, electronic resources, CD-ROM applications and the internet.
  5. Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs.
  6. Must be physically able to put items in order and reach items on high and low shelves.

This position will begin August 1, 2021

Salary for this position begins at $22,000.00 annually along with benefits.

Library Branch Managers are responsible for all aspects of branch library operations including, but not limited to, physical plant, materials, programming, community contacts, accounting, and monthly reports.
