Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a Circulation Clerk to fill a part time (19 hours) position at the Morton Public Library in Morton, MS. The rate of pay for this position is $8.00 per hour. The Circulation Clerk is responsible for the daily duties of the circulation desk, shelving, and assist in providing service to patrons at the circulation desk. Responsible for preserving the physical appearance and order of the collection. May assist in providing basic reference service.
A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and previous work experience is preferred. Computer literacy, good communication, and research skills are a must. Applicant must be able to lift 30-40 pounds.

Part-Time Courier Drive
Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a part time (24 hours) Courier Driver. This is a benefitted position with a starting pay rate of $10.00 per hour. This position is responsible for making deliveries to twenty (20) branches in a four (4) county system; responsible for sorting materials and mail to branches and the administrative offices; run general errands and maintenance of the vans; and responsible for carrying and picking up mail from the Post Office.
A High School diploma and previous work experience is required. The ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees is necessary. Applicant must be able to lift 30-40 pounds. An excellent driving record, with a valid Mississippi driver’s license is required. The successful applicant will be subject to a background check.

Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a Branch Manager to fill a full- time position at the Brandon Public Library in Brandon, MS.
SCOPE: Performs under general supervision, following oral and written instruction. This position reports to the Director and has responsibilities for directing and managing a branch.
BASIC FUNCTION: Branch Managers are responsible for all aspects of branch library operations. Responsible for staff, physical plant, materials, programming, community contacts, and local reference.
- Education requirements:
- An ALA MLS degree and three (3) years of previous supervisory experience in a public library; or
- Master’s Degree in related field and three (3) years of previous library experience with two (2) of those years in a supervisory position.
- Must be computer literate.
- Possess good communication and reference skills.
- Be able to lift from 30-40 lbs.
- Be able to reach shelves above shoulder height and bend to reach shelves close to the floor.
Salary for this position will be $32,000.00 – $38,000.00 and will begin April 1, 2020.

Pearl Public Library
Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a Youth Services Librarian to fill a full-time supervisory position at the Pearl Public Library in Pearl, MS. The Youth Services Librarian Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of services to children and youth in the branch libraries. All job responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the Branch Manager and Coordinator of Youth Services.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Early Childhood Development is required. Knowledge of children’s literature, current library practices, and technology is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of work experience with children is required.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, computers.
The annual salary for this position is $23,000.00. The start date for this position will be January 1, 2020.
